Since her time as a preschool teacher, and throughout her formation first as a Dominican teaching sister and later as a contemplative nun, Lisa has searched unsuccessfully for beautifully illustrated picture books that would make the Sacred Scriptures accessible to small children. After God blessed her with two children of her own, she decided to produce the books herself. She knew she could draw on her education and experiences in teaching and cartography. What she did not expect was to discover a deep desire to design beautiful, high-quality reading experiences wherever worthwhile books of spiritual, educational or cultural value are missing. It was the grace of this newfound desire that would expand her dream from a single book series into a ministry of running Blooming Steppe Publishing.
